European Film Awards Protocol Internship
The European Film Academy brings together filmmakers and cinema professionals from across Europe and promotes, celebrates and protects European cinema culture through its year-round activities and the annual European Film Awards. We are looking for a motivated and organised intern to join our Protocol team in Berlin.
Duration
3-month full-time internship
19 October 2026 – 22 January 2027
Including travel to Athens for the European Film Awards ceremony
Purpose of the post
The Protocol team manages the guest experience of the European Film Awards, from invitations and accreditation to seating and on-site coordination of filmmakers, industry professionals, and political guests. In preparation for the European Film Awards 2027, the European Film Academy is looking for an intern to support the Protocol Department through its most intensive phase, including the awards weekend in Athens. The Protocol team works in close collaboration with the Event and Guest Management teams, and the intern will be an active part of this cross-team coordination.
Your responsibilities
- Supporting the coordination and communication with international guests: European filmmakers, industry professionals, and other VIP partners attending the European Film Awards
- Supporting the processing of guest registrations and RSVPs
- Assisting with ticket dispatch and guest correspondence
- Supporting the preparation of guest lists and seating coordination
- Assisting with on-site guest support during the European Film Awards ceremony in Athens
Requirements
- Enrolled at a university or higher education institution and required to complete a mandatory internship (in Germany: Pflichtpraktikum) as part of your studies
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail — essential for this role
- Confident and professional communicator — you will be in direct contact with European filmmakers, industry professionals, and other partners
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools
- Interest in European film and culture is an advantage
- Experience with CRM or database tools is a plus
Compensation
As this internship is a mandatory part of an academic programme, remuneration is not legally required under German labour law. Nevertheless, the European Film Academy provides a voluntary stipend of €300 per month for the duration of the internship.
