Before the awards ceremony on 17 January, Deutsche Kinemathek is inviting members of the European Film Academy to an exclusive guided sneak preview tour of our new temporary location at the E-Werk in Berlin-Mitte. In the spacious hall of the former power station, we will present projections and video installations, as well as a curated selection of “sacred objects” from our archives, representing 120 years of German cinema. Before the exhibition officially opens to the public, EFA members will have the opportunity to discover photographs, Weimar-era set designs and original costumes worn by stars such as MarleneDietrich and Liv Ullmann, as well as star postcards and cameras. We have been based in this central hub of industrial development since January 2025 after moving from our previous location on Potsdamer Platz. This signature Berlin location served as a techno club in the 1990s and is now the Kinemathek’s new home.
