MONTENEGRO: Montenegrin Cinematheque, Podgorica

The Montenegrin Cinematheque was founded in 2000, primarily for the purpose of gathering and preserving Montenegrin films as well as the films by Montenegrin authors, i.e. the films produced within Montenegro and about Montenegro. We also intend to form a collection of the most significant world films. The main activities of the cinematheque are gathering and preserving films and supplementary film materials (documents, photographs, posters, publicity materials, old items related to film etc).

The films of artistic, cultural, historical and scientific importance are regularly screened, and they offer visitors the insight in the national as well as the world cultural heritage. The Montenegrin Cinematheque is opened for all researchers, scientists and students who deal with the history and theory of film.
