Leaving EFA Director Marion Döring to Join Board of Wim Wenders Foundation

Leaving EFA Director Marion Döring will, as of 1 January 2021, join the board of the Wim Wenders Foundation with the task of strategic alignment and future development.
Marion Döring has been with the European Film Awards since they were presented for the first time in 1988 at Berlin‘s Theater des Westens: Starting as PR-Manager of the European Film Awards, later as project manager for EFA Activities and Publications and from 1996 as Director of the European Film Academy. Since 2004 she has also been Producer of the European Film Awards.
Very much looking forward to the new challenge, she states: „Protecting and passing on film culture on the basis of the great oeuvre of Wim Wenders, as well as the support of new generations of filmmakers and of film literacy work are essential for the future of a vivid film culture and its effects on society.”
„As President of the European Film Academy I look back on a long, trustful and always highly pleasant co-operation with Marion Döring,“, says Wim Wenders. „I value Marion a lot as a person and as an active manager and I am glad that she will further advance the foundation’s vision and strategic direction with her international network and her longtime experience in the film world.“
Knowing that we will always have a friend and collaborator in her, we wish Marion Döring all the best.
