Winner LUX Audience Award

Film Fans Across Europe Can Watch And Vote – Until Vote Closes on 23 May

With two more weeks to vote, the 2021 LUX Audience Award continues its European tour, including virtual screenings and a live Q&A with the filmmakers. The LUX Audience Week (10-16 May) now presents the nominated films online: ANOTHER ROUND by Thomas Vinterberg, COLLECTIVE by Alexander Nanau and CORPUS CHRISTI by Jan Komasa can be watched in most European territories (details at luxaward.eu) through the LUX Virtual Cinema, available on Festival Scope.

The various challenges and restrictions imposed by the pandemic have forced the organisers to reformulate some of the activities initially planned during this period. Instead of three simultaneous screenings followed by live-streamed debates, there will be a live-Q&A on the LUX Audience Award's Facebook page with directors Thomas Vinterberg and Alexander Nanau and CORPUS CHRISTI lead actor Bartosz Bielenia on Friday 14 May at 17.00 CET, moderated by Cineuropa editor-in-chief Domenico La Porta.

Until 23 May, the European public can vote for their favourite films by ranking them on a scale from one to five stars, representing 50 per cent of the total vote. The other half will come from the votes cast by the Member of the European Parliament, where the voting process is also in progress.

As previously announced, the winning film will be announced at the LUX Award Ceremony on 9 June 2021, during a plenary session of the European Parliament. David-Maria Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, will present the award to the laureate in front of the MEPs, invited partners and representatives from the other nominated films.

The LUX Audience Award is presented by the European Film Academy and the European Parliament, and in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas.
