EFA Mourns Jeanne Moreau

European cinema has lost a great actress and the European Film Academy has lost a dear friend: Jeanne Moreau.

The legendary French actress has worked with some of the greatest directors like Louis Malle (ELEVATOR TO THE GALLOWS, THE LOVERS, VIVA MARIA), François Truffaut (JULES AND JIM, THE BRIDE WORE BLACK) and Michelangelo Antonioni (THE NIGHT). These films and many others that she made during her impressive career made cinema history. She has received virtually every honorary award there is: a BAFTA Fellowship, an honorary Golden Berlin Bear, Golden Palm in Cannes, César, Donostia Lifetime Achievement Award and a Career Golden Lion in Venice. In 1997 she was the first woman to receive the EFA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jeanne Moreau passed away today.
