    POLAND: Kino Mikro, Kraków

    Kino Mikro in Krakow

Mikro Cinema is a small arthouse theatre that has been delighting audiences with its vibrant film and cultural activity for over 40 years. Our mission is to promote artistic, independent, and festival cinema, which has made us an important spot on Kraków’s cultural map. Our program features unique retrospectives, thematic film series, and a variety of festivals that attract cinema lovers from across the city and beyond. We also host workshops, filmmaker meetings, and post-screening discussions, making Kino Mikro a lively place for exchanging ideas and film experiences. Thanks to our passion and dedication, we create a space where the art of cinema can be rediscovered – a place where every viewer can find something for themselves.

The cinema in its current form began operating on 7 April 1984, when the Film Art Club “Mikro” was inaugurated at 5 Lea Street. It soon became a special place on Kraków’s cinema scene.

Our program focuses mainly on independent, artistic, and festival films, though we also feature major film productions. We strive to offer a diverse repertoire so that everyone can find something they enjoy – showcasing the most interesting cinematic works. In addition to new releases, we present retrospectives and special screenings devoted to world and European cinema classics. Furthermore, the cinema organizes filmmaker Q&As, regular discussion meetings, and special events, making it not only a place to watch films but also to engage in dialogue and expand one’s knowledge of cinema.

Kino Mikro is a proud member of the Polish Association of Arthouse Cinemas, Europa Cinemas, and CICAE.
