Purpose of the post
Working closely with the wider membership team, the Membership Coordinator will provide strategic thinking and interdepartmental coordination of all services offered to Academy members. This includes supervising frontline customer service to the Academy’s expanding membership, synchronising service-oriented tasks aiming at members and developing a culture of “members first” within the Academy team. The Membership Coordinator will also continuously connect Academy staff from all departments involved in activities and procedures that directly impact Academy members, aligns member communication, and monitors national and pan-European strategies for membership growth. The Membership Coordinator ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the European Film Academy’s membership interactions to ensure it is engaged, inclusive and relevant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the membership core team and all related team members through regular meetings, strategy development and planning
- Manage the annual membership invitation processes by monitoring, reviewing, categorizing and developing membership growth strategies
- Quarterly analysing membership data
- Working closely with Membership Relations and Support, devise ways of improving customer service for members, encouraging self-service in the members’ area, and contributing to member communications through (e.g. editing the Academy Circular)
- Working with the Diversity and Inclusion Officer to oversee the implementation of measures
- Running of member networking events and working closely with the event manager
- Developing (sustainable) member assets and materials based on industry best practices, ensuring a high level accuracy and membership engagement
- Processing and reporting on membership developments based on payments and renewals
- Develop strategies to encourage membership for Awards voting and accessing content on the Academy VOD Platform, in close collaboration with the Awarding Procedures and Digital departments
Ideally you will have:
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to develop strategies to manage volume of queries, and deal with sensitive situations
- A track record of effective task prioritisation and working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written communication, including letter writing, copy-editing, newsletters and proofreading
- Experience with data reporting and analysis
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies or errors in communications and data

The European Film Academy seeks to support and connect its more than 5,000 members and celebrates and promotes their work. Its aims are to share knowledge and to educate audiences of all ages about European cinema. Positioning itself as a leading organization and facilitating crucial debates within the industry, the Academy strives to unite everyone who loves European cinema, culminating annually in the Month of European Film and the European Film Awards, by including European film heritage in its portfolio and by expanding its focus on young audiences through the European Film Club.
The team of the European Film Academy and of the subsidiary European Film Academy Productions currently consists of 14 permanent employees complemented by additional freelancers.
