European Film Heritage
European Film Heritage
The European Film Heritage department has initiated a network of national film academies, cinematheques and film archives dedicated to the support and promotion of classics from our continent. These activities include the _UNDERSCORE series, the Treasures of European Film Culture and also the “In Memoriam“ section of the European Film Awards, which commemorates European cinema colleagues who passed away.
With the Treasures, the Academy celebrates places of a symbolic nature for European cinema, places of historical value that need to be maintained and protected not just now, but for generations to come.
This special focus programme allows the European Film Academy to highlight different topics and countries. Always presented for the duration of a month, it addresses both the members of the Academy, by our newsletter, the “Academy Circular” and on the Academy VOD platform, and the general public by posts on our websites and on social media.
The “In Memoriam“ section of the European Film Awards commemorates European cinema colleagues who passed away in the past twelve months.
The European Film Academy’s honorary awards shed a special light on those who have dedicated their life to the world of film.
