the happy winners

At the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad, another short film joined the nominees for the European Film Awards 2007: TOMMY by Ole Giæver. The international jury selected the “very Scandinavian film which works for its sarcastic and undercurrent sense of humour.”

TOMMY tells the story of Arild and Kjell who meet by chance up in the mountains. Kjell is the father of a former classmate of Arild. They haven’t seen each other for twenty years. Things become rather unpleasant when Kjell confronts Arild with controversial incidents form the past.

the happy winners

Daniel Mulloy won the Prix UIP Cracow 2007 for his film DAD, telling the story of an older couple having sex. Their adult son is listening to the sounds next door. Maybe he is jealous of his parents’ closeness. Himself, he is doomed to watch porno films. Hopelessly lonely, he tries to spoil their moments of happiness.

The winner was selected by the International Jury consisting of Andrzej Żuławski, Jean-Pierre Berckmans, Claas Danielsen, Sayoko Kinoshita and Sergei Loznitsa.
