Financing

The European Film Academy (EFA) is mainly financed by the German National Lottery, with additional financial support by the Federal Commissioner for Cultural and Media Affairs, as well as by the MEDIA Programme of the European Community, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH, and partners and sponsors related to EFA`s activities throughout Europe.

In addition, EFA is backed by the international film industry (see EFA patrons).

The European Film Awards Ceremony is presented jointly by the European Film Academy and its production company EFA Productions gGmbH, and mainly financed through private sources and international TV sales.
