Press release # 5/2009

The European Film Academy (EFA) and the Krakow Film Festival congratulate the

Krakow Short Film Nominee for the European Film Awards 2009
POSTE RESTANTE

by Marcel Łoziński (Poland)

The film is now nominated for the European Film Academy Short Film 2009. The film was selected by the festival’s international jury.

Letters whose addresses are impossible to find end up at the Undeliverable Letters Department of the Post Office in Koluszki. There are around a million of them in Poland each year, among them those addressed to God. The film tells the story of one of those letters.

The short film initiative is organised by the European Film Academy in co-operation with a series of film festivals throughout Europe. At each of these festivals, an independent jury presents one of the European short films in competition with a nomination in the short film category of the European Film Awards.

The overall winner will be presented during the Awards Ceremony on 12 December in Germany’s Ruhr Metropolis.

POSTE RESTANTE joins the following nominees:

ZWEMLES by Danny de Vent (Belgium),

14 by Asitha Ameresekere (UK),

LÄGG M FÖR MORD by Magnus Holmgren (Sweden),

WAS BLEIBT by David Nawrath (Germany),

DIE LEIDEN DES HERRN KARPF. DER GEBURTSTAG by Lola Randl (Germany),

SZKLANA PULAPKA (The Glass Trap) by Pawel Ferdek (Poland)

The next nomination will be presented in co-operation with the Norwegian Short Film Festival Grimstad.
